They are not close to any town so it's hard to say what town is closer. There are no other camps in their area and as a result they have an extremely high population of Black Bears including big old boars that commonly exceed 350 pounds. The average size Black Bear harvested in their area is around 250 pounds. Their guests commonly see bears in the 400 to 500 pound range. Bears that big are really smart and very cautious and don't get taken very often even though there are a fare amount of them around. Accommodations are in outpost camps right beside theor Bear Management area.

Lake Onaping Lodge & Northern Wilderness Outpost Camps is located on Lake Onaping, which is north-west of Sudbury, Ontario. They have a new bear management area (BMA) and offer both mainland and outpost hunts for big trophy Black Bears.
